Hey, here’s something we’re excited about. For the Super Bowl this year, we’re bringing in 5 Goose Island beers. If you’re in the know, your ears should perk up because they make one of the better bourbon aged stouts in the country. Your question should be: will you have Bourbon County Stout?
Yep. We’ve got it. We’re super excited to feature Bourbon County Stout, one of Beer Advocate’s top 25 highest rated beers of all time.
But wait, there’s more! We’ll also have:
Bourbon County Barleywine
Once Goose Island is done aging BCS in bourbon barrels, what do you think they do with them? If you guessed take it to the next level and age their barleywine in them, you’re A) as crazy as the Goose Island brew crew, and B) totally correct. Your happy little taste buds will thank them. 12.1% ABV
Since big beers are generally the rule for this event, we’re throwing a Double IPA at ya. Don’t be scared. Named after Frank Lloyd Wright’s mile-high dream skyscraper, it’s a grand vision of a beer that uses Cascade, Meridian, and Citra hops. Flavor for days. 8.4% ABV
This American example of a Belgian Strong Pale Ale holds its own with (and in some people’s opinion, tops) the big boys: Duvel, Delirium, La Chouffe. And don’t worry, we’re pretty sure it’s not against the law to drink a Belgian beer while watching football. And if it is, we won’t tell. 7.0% ABV
She’s a real beauty, this one. This saison is just tart enough, spicy and peppery, slightly bitter, and supremely drinkable. Another one of the infamous Goose Island ladies, she’ll steal your heart if you let her. 6.5% ABV
